Alicia Keys' new Haircut
In choosing our hairstyles, we cannot deny the fact that celebrities will always set the pace, just like fashion and so many other things. Well, for a while now short hair has been in vogue and Alicia Keys decided to get a hair makeover!
The singer tweeted. Along with photos of several different ways she styled her new hair.
Look what I done did!!;-))) its an #aknewday in EVERY way!!!!)))
In the pics, Keys gives a more defining look at just how much hair she chopped off, a star who has never been in public with hair that is just chin length. The premiere of her cut coincides with the release of her latest single, “New Day.”
“I like a little bit of everything,” she once told InStyle of her hairstyle inspiration. “When I was younger I was strictly told to wear only braids. But now I love it straight. I love it curly. I love it partially braided and combed to the back. I really love when it covers my eyes a little bit—then there’s a little mystery.”
Her new, chin-length hair cut is the most daring style move Keys has made.
What do you think of Alicia Keys’ new hairstyle?
TY Bello's Hair Secret

TY Bello a renowned musician and photographer has always had her hair as her Trade Mark. Is her hair natural or artificial? TY Bello has been nice enough to have shared her Hair Secret with us on Twitter:
''Its taken me a couple of years of practice with natural hair texture to figure out what works for my hair.I have natural hair and texturise very lightly though, because I start to have my hair break once my texturised curl pattern is different from that of my natural growth.
A few years ago, Banke Meshida introduced me to kinky curly, so I use the whole range.I love my own hair, but work has me on the move all the time and I find that unless its twisted ,my natural hair tends to revert with naija humidity.. So my sisters.. I’ve learnt to love my weave. A good weave that blends flawlessly with natural hair. is … Sleek afro cool curl. You can get it at their stores in lagos. Ify Ugochukwu kept me stocked with those babies for years. Its really versatile so I blow dry and twist for a more natural finish.
My motto for weaves though, is to make sure its as close to your hair as possible. If any one has to ask, ”What weave is that ?” Then you’ve failed. I must confess that sometimes even I get carried away and pile on hair till I look like a tree. I used to be a hairstylist for years so I cut and layer my own hair (yes! nautral hair is better layered to fit your face). I’m looking forward to getting back into the hair business, maybe not as a stylist this time but I’ve been cooking up some potions for natural hair in humid weather, they actually work! Its funny cause I’ve been mixing stuff up for hair since I was eleven. Yeah.. And warmed up shea butter mixed with shea oil is magic on the scalp, just let it warm up in the microwave a bit and slather on your scalp. I massage and leave on for hours before I wash.''
...So basically, her hair is a weave and not natural! Wow!
Welcome Note
Hiya!
Hmm... Well I got the inspiration for this blog just last week Thursday! and I really hope that I am able to see it through to the end.
Anyways, how did it happen? I went to the bank o! One of these our banks here in Naija and I had to queue up as usual (rolling my eyes). There was a new staff; well I had never seen her before even though I go to that particular bank like once in three months.
She was pretty (not beautiful) but okay and I was admiring her weave. In the process, I thought to myself... how do I get series of weaves and hairstyle pictures to choose from.
...then it came to me!!! I can make it available for others; I don't have to wait for someone else to do this. Basically, I'm an internet freak, I google anything and everything you can possibly think of. So this blog is all about hairstyles, majorly Nigerian but hairstyles generally.
